Design models should provide as accurate an impression as possible of how the finished product will look. They must be easy to transport and able to withstand high loads while being moved.
To meet these requirements, HOTE has developed a special manufacturing process based on epowood, in which models are built around a steel frame panelled in wood which supports the lightweight artificial foam core. This is subsequently coated in extruding material which can be reapplied and re-milled as many times as required – ideal for quickly incorporating retrospective design alterations without entailing much effort and expense.
The extremely lightweight and material-saving models (max. 1.0 tonne) are distinguished by increased stability. They convey a very exact, physical impression of the draft design and are used as presentation models and inexpensive data reference models.
